Our Commitment to Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. HoustonBack on Track, an initiative of the Greater Houston Partnership, and the Greater Houston Partnership respect your privacy and are committed to complying with this Houston Back on Track privacy policy(“Privacy Policy”), which describes what information we collect about you, including how we collect it, how we use it, with whom we may share it and what choices you have regarding our use of your information.

To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. This notice applies to the Houston Back on Track website at www.HoustonBackonTrack.org and any current or future associated mobile application, and any other online property under our control that links to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the“Website”).

Houston Back on Track collects and stores certain information from or about you (“Personal Information”). Personal Information is information that uniquely identifies, or can be used to identify, contact or locate the person to whom such information pertains (e.g., your name, address, e-mail address or phone number). We may make changes to this policy at any time and without notice. This policy should be construed to conform to all local and federal regulations. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

What Information Do We Collect? 

Information You Provide Us:  To manage and provide the Website, we and/or our service providers collect information, including Personal Information, about you from a variety of sources, including information that you provide directly to us including your name, demographic information (including yourself-reported ethnic and gender information), photographs and video, career details, e-mail, phone number, and address. This information may be collected when you submit an online form, contact us, provide a resume, apply for a job, sign-up for an account and create a profile, and information that we automatically collect about you when you access and use the Website. 

Information Collected Automatically:  We collect information automatically from you when you visit and use the Website.  Such information includes the following: 

Usage information.  We collect information about how you interact with the Website to operate and improve the Website. This includes information such as the dates and times that you visit the Website, the page you view, referring / exit URLs, and your browser type. In some cases, we collect this information through cookies and similar technologies. To learn more about these technologies, please see the Cookies section below.

Device Information.  To manage the Website, we collect information about the devices you use to access the Website, including your device model,IP address, inferred geolocation information, operating system, and unique device identifiers. 

Cookies and Usage Reports 

By placing a small file known as a“cookie” on your computer (or other device), Houston Back on Track and its third-party service providers’ servers passively gather information about all visitors’ use of the Website for several reasons, including, but not limited to, the following:  statistics collection and analysis, Website optimization, analytics, and maintenance of user login information. The information that we and our third party service providers track with cookies includes, but is not limited to, the type of browser (such as Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge) and Internet-connected devices being used to access the Website, your Internet protocol (“IP”) address, your home domain or Internet service provider, your referrer URL (which is the URL for the website that you were viewing prior to visiting the Website), how you were directed to the Website, which specific pages you access on the Website, how long you view each page, the time and date you access our Website and the total number of visitors to the Website and any portions thereof.  We, and/or our third-party service providers, may use the information collected from cookies or similar files on your computer for security purposes (such as authentication), to facilitate site navigation and to personalize your experience while visiting the Website. These data help us and our third-party service providers improve our respective products and services. 

Most popular Internet browser applications will allow you to configure the browser so as not to accept cookies. However, setting your browser to reject cookies may, in certain instances, prevent you from taking full advantage of the Website (or some portion thereof) and its capabilities, or cause some features of the Website to function improperly or more slowly.  

Google Analytics 

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, in order to better understand your use of the Website and how we can improve it. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit a website, what pages you visit when you do so, and what other websites you used prior to coming to such website.  GoogleAnalytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit a website, rather than your name or other directly identifying information.  We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with your Personal Information.  Although Google Analytics plants a persistent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit a website, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google.  Google Analytics uses its cookie(s) and the informationGoogle Analytics collects to track your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our Website, and other websites.  Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Website is governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the GooglePrivacy Policy.  Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of the Website, to prepare reports on its activities, and share them with other Google services.  To more fully understand how Google may use the data it collects on the Website, please review “How Google Uses InformationFrom Sites or Apps That Use Our Services” (located HERE). 

In addition, Houston Back uses Google AdWords, an online advertising services provided by Google, to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet and sometimes on this Website. Google uses yourInternet searches, cookies and similar identifiers (e.g., pixel tags) to collect information about your visits to the Website and your interaction with our Services to generate targeted advertisements to you on other websites that you visit across the Internet. To opt out of remarketing advertising provided through Google, to customize your ad preferences, or to limit Google’s collection or use this information, visit Google’sSafety Center and Google’sAd Settings and follow Google’s personalized ad opt-out instructions. Opting out will not affect your use of the Website. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page:  NAI Consumer Opt Out(networkadvertising.org)  Please note that not all tracking will stop even if you delete cookies.  

How Do We Use the Information We Collect? 

Houston Back on Track, the GreaterHouston Partnership, and our third party service providers (such as hosting, email marketing, and payment processing providers) collect and use the PersonalInformation that we collect to operate the Website, including to provide certain services and improve the user experience, address Website integrity or security issues, and conduct research and analysis to maintain, protect, develop, and improve the Website, and, additionally, use the information submitted by users as described below or elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

Because Houston Back on Track is focused on helping residents in the Houston region find pathways back to good jobs, we may use your Personal Information to better connect you with community-based partners, employers, and jobs. These community partners may engage with you to understand your interests, provide wraparound and supportive services, and provide career coaching separately from this Website. In addition, we may send you emails or in-app messages to receive information about job opportunities through the Website. In addition, Houston Back on Track may use your Personal Information – such as your email address, telephone number, and other contact information – to respond to your inquiries and to communicate with you as needed or permitted to fulfill our business and mission. We may also connect with you to highlight opportunities, promote training, conduct surveys, etc.  

We retain the Personal Information that we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need todo so (for example, to provide you with the services you requested or to comply with an applicable legal requirement). Specifically, we do not share information about you with other people or organizations without your consent, except in the following circumstances:

·      To facilitate providing the products, goods or services that you have requested;
·      To investigate, prevent or take action regarding potentially illegal activities, or violations of our Terms of Service;
·      In response to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims, or when reasonably necessary to conduct our business. 

What Choices Do You Have? 

When submitting information, corresponding, making requests for information, and otherwise interacting with HoustonBack on Track and its representatives through or in connection with theWebsite, you generally choose what information to supply or submit, whether you wish to receive further information, and how you may be contacted. Please take care to share only such information as is needed or that you believe is appropriate.  You may choose to opt-out of sharing personal information in several ways. If you receive communications from us that you prefer not to receive, you may opt out from receiving these communications, either by specifically indicating this preference in a communication to us or by selecting an opt-out option. Any promotional email we send to you will contain a link that will allow you to opt out of receiving any further correspondence. If you have created an online account, you may also change your correspondence preferences by logging into your account. You may disable your online account access at any time. How Do We Protect Information Collected About You? 

We take commercially reasonable measures to secure and protect information transmitted via or stored on theWebsite. Nevertheless, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information that users of the Website may happen to transmit or otherwise supply will be totally secure. You agree to immediately notify us of any breach of the Website’s security, this Privacy Policy, or the Terms of Service of which you become aware.  

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy 

You may not use the Website if you are under the age of 13. If we discover that we have collected PersonalInformation from someone under the age of 13, then we will immediately delete and erase that information.   

Linked Websites 

For your convenience, some hyperlinks may be posted on the Website that link to other websites not under our control. We are not responsible for, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to, the privacy practices of those sites or of any companies that we do not own or control. We cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of any such websites or pages not under our control and we do not endorse any of those websites or pages, the services or products described or offered on such sites or pages, or any of the content contained on those sites or pages. We encourage you to seek out and read the privacy policy of each website that you visit. In addition, should you happen to initiate a transaction on a website that ourWebsite links to, even if you reached that site through the Website, the information that you submit to complete that transaction becomes subject to the privacy practices of the operator of that linked website. You should read that website’s privacy policies to understand how Personal Information that is collected about you is used and protected.

Social Media Platforms and Websites 

Any Submission that you submit to any of our pages contained on a social media platform or website by e-mail, posting, messaging, uploading, downloading, or otherwise is done at your own risk and without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of a social media platform, and we are therefore not responsible for any Submissions contained on a social media platform or website.  

Limitation of Liability 

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL HOUSTON BACK ON TRACK AND THE GREATER HOUSTON PARTNERSHIP BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT MAY ARISE FROM A CLAIM OF BREACH OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law or $100, whichever is less.  

Changes to Our Privacy Policy  

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time and from time to time.  The most recent version of the Privacy Policy is reflected by the effective date located at the top of this Privacy Policy. All such updates and amendments are effective immediately upon notice thereof, which we may give by any means, including, but not limited to, by posting a revised version of this PrivacyPolicy or other notice on the Website.
